Presentation
jjoy was born on March 29, 1975 in Lyon, to a French father and a Filipino mother. She spent part of her life in Asia but it is now in France that she has established residence. His drawing is imbued with this dual culture but also with his design studies in Australia which explain the graphic dimension of his art. Indeed, his drawing is at the border between figurative and abstract, everyone can see something different and let their imagination speak. Some will perceive some of its inspirations: nature, dance and its movement, and above all, women, but some will see quite another thing in it. She draws instinctively by letting herself be crossed by an emotion that she transcends to create a light, positive, even sometimes funny art. Her universe is feminine, dreamlike and often magical. Most of his drawings represent characters who can be compared to fairies, angels, animals or simple humans, and often on the borderline of all that. Despite this dreamlike, even spiritual dimension, her drawings are deeply rooted thanks, in particular, to her use of space, this white part to which she attaches as much importance as to the features. His art is therefore imbued with a childish, curative imagination of the child who dreams of being protected and of living in a gentler world between light fairies and protective guardians, but he is also endowed with a more anchoring adult by the refinement of its lines, almost calligraphic.
