The screen is my canvas. Instinctive sketches take shape as minimal figures, where emotional tension becomes form.
Mila Margini is an Italian artist who works with digital media as an extension of the painterly gesture. Her work originates in drawing and in a research focused on the female body as an emotional presence and a space of introspection.
Each work begins with a rapid and instinctive pen sketch. The drawing is then transferred into the digital space, where it is developed through vector curves, color and structure. As the artist states, “The screen is my canvas".
The image takes shape through thousands of micro-interventions and progressive adjustments. The process seeks an essential balance that allows the figure to remain minimal yet dense, capable of holding an emotion with very few elements.
Her research focuses on interiority and emotional suspension. The female figures inhabit a silent mental space where posture, inclination and gaze become the sensitive points through which the image reveals its emotional tension.
Margini graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts. After completing her studies, she spent a year in the United States studying Web Design and Graphic Design. She later worked as a graphic designer and art director between Milan and Trento.
Today she develops her research through digital artworks dedicated to the human figure and contemporary introspection, exhibited in shows and presented to the public.
