Description
Presentation
Li Qing-Yan is a Chinese artist born in 1972 who lives and works in Beijing, China. She studied at the Shi Qi Art Institute in Beijing, China. She is a member of the China Imagery Oil Painting Association. Inspired by folk art and modern literature, Li's ink paintings explore the restless state of people in the consumer society.
Rejecting traditional modeling or the illusion of perspective, his works are characterized by a thinned paint layer, loose gestural brushstrokes, and varied color shades that rely on chance and spontaneity.
The artist has added his personal subjectivity to the various images that evoke the viewer's imagination. His major art exhibitions include Dahewan Art Museum in Beijing in 2016, Sunshine Art Museum in Beijing in 2017, 2018 and 2019, Shan He Art Museum in Beijing in 2016 and Shi Qi Art Museum in Beijing in 2021.
