Martine Camillieri  

Martine Camillieri left the world of advertising in 2000 to devote herself to an engaged artistic practice centered on ecology, recycling, and responsible consumption. A visual artist, author, and scenographer, she repurposes everyday objects to question overconsumption and advocate for a more sustainable relationship with objects and food.

Since 2004, she has exhibited in France and internationally (Maison des Arts de Malakoff, Fondation Écureuil, FIAC, Centre Pompidou…), presenting poetic and offbeat installations—altars, oil-drum trucks, chandelier tea sets—that give a second life to objects.

Trained at ENSAD/Villa Arson, she co-founded La Périphérie in 2000, an exhibition space dedicated to emerging artists.

During her many travels in the 1990s, while still working in advertising, Martine Camillieri developed the habit of drawing on the letterheads of the hotels she visited. These works capture snapshots of the luxury of that era, revealing decorative styles unique to each palace and city she passed through.

These drawings are now the subject of a book, , accompanied by texts by Anne Cussinet.
