Presentation
Far from the slender young girls of magazines, it is in curves that we find the models of Jeanne Lorioz, painter, born in 1954.
After studying at the École supérieure des Arts Appliqués, Jeanne Lorioz works as an interior decorator. During her studies, she specialized in modeling and anatomy, two predispositions that will later appear in her paintings.
The women that Jeanne Lorioz depicts in her drawings position themselves as worthy descendants of the "Nanas" of Niki de Saint-Phalle. Sulfurous and provocative, they celebrate womanhood in its entirety. In a glance, these ambassadors of pleasure inspire a feeling of epicureanism and joviality.
Two elements catch our eye in these women, their light clothing as well as their particularly developed buttocks which are highlighted by their back positions and their weighted dresses. Seductive yes, but never vulgar. Alone, among friends or with children, they are depicted in their daily lives. Through her paintings, Jeanne Lorioz presents us with the portrait of the woman who can be a woman and a mother without being confined to a single role.
Throughout her career, Jeanne Lorioz has exhibited her work in many galleries and art fairs in France and internationally.
