The oil painting on cardboard titled "Boats Moored on the Shore" evokes a moment of calm along the water's edge, where a group of small boats rest quietly in the shallows. The artist has captured not only the physical presence of these vessels, but also the peaceful rhythm of nature surrounding them. Through expressive brushstrokes and a rich color palette, the painting communicates the essence of a breezy day by the water—timeless, still, and deeply reflective. At the forefront of the composition, three boats dominate the scene. Each is unique in color and shape, gently tethered to the shore with barely visible lines. The boat closest to the viewer is dark, almost black, its sleek hull slightly catching the reflections of the sky and the water below. Next to it, a strikingly painted red boat gleams with warmth and presence, its side catching the light and acting as the focal point of the scene. The third boat, resting a little farther back, is more neutral in tone, blending harmoniously with the reeds and greenery behind it. Their placement creates a natural depth in the image and a soft visual rhythm that guides the eye from foreground to background. The water is rendered in layered tones of green, brown, and blue with occasional accents of white to suggest movement, reflections, or wind-rippled surface. Strokes vary from broad and sweeping to sharp and deliberate, mimicking the shifting nature of shallow water near the shore. Scattered water lilies and reflections of foliage add texture to the surface, giving it both life and stillness. Behind the boats, tall grasses and reeds rise up from the shore, rendered in bold vertical strokes that contrast with the smoother flow of the water. Their palette includes sunlit greens, warm ochres, and even hints of violet and turquoise. The reeds act as a soft boundary between water and land, and beyond them, we catch glimpses of open water stretching toward the horizon. On the right side of the canvas, a tree leans over the scene. Its branches twist gently in the breeze, and its leaves scatter in small, dappled forms across the sky. The leaves are depicted in hues of green, brown, and golden yellow, suggesting the transition from summer into early autumn. Their texture is thick and painterly, adding dimension to the foliage and suggesting movement as they rustle in the wind.

Zhitomir artist Suprunchuk Yuri Sergeevich Born on April 11, 1961, in the city of Zhitomir. Graduated from the Zheleznogorsk Art School, Russia (1982). Teachers in the specialty: V. Chukuev, E. Nikulin. Painter. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2002). Major works: "Near the house" (2005), "Winter on the outskirts of Zhitomir" (2006), "Autumn still life" (2004). Lived and worked in the city of Zhitomir.
