Description
This painting explores the encounter between nature and the city, between the raw energy of the urban landscape and the delicacy of the botanical world. Organic forms seem to vibrate at the heart of the composition, like garden fragments emerging within a contemporary environment. The layering of textures and graphic rhythms evoke the constant heartbeat of the city, while floral nuances—luminous pinks, tender greens, and airy blues—breathe softness and life into the whole. The work plays on this contrast: a dynamic tension structured by the artist’s gesture, softened by a palette inspired by the living world. Both expressive and balanced, this piece embodies a nature in motion, resilient and vibrant, finding its place within the modern urban space.
Presentation
When, in March 2020, we were told we couldn't go out any more, FLOV' felt a compelling need to create a world of colour, to paint, to escape.
So she decided: 'I'm going to paint pictures that feel good'.
In her search for freedom, she came across a quotation from Matisse that she took as a personal message: 'Colour above all, and even more than drawing, is a liberation'.
Inspired by nature, she uses acrylic paint, which she works with a brush, a knife or any other object that helps her to express her emotions on canvas. She can add graphite, ink or chalk to suggest relief.
She lets herself be carried away by the gesture, creating intuitively, letting herself be guided by the colours and contrasts. You could say that she lets go, so she follows her emotions and lets the colours express themselves.
