Description
The canvas opens onto a serene Galician landscape. Nature reigns here in a state of timeless stillness. Massive centenarian trees anchor the composition with their weathered trunks and sprawling canopies. These giants frame a scene where wild greenery blends into soft, earthy tones.
The artist employs a rich oil technique to build texture and depth. Rhythmic brushstrokes sculpt the density of the bushes and the softness of the distant foliage. A curved path of silty soil guides the eye through the meadow. It suggests a slow journey through a silent sanctuary.
The palette balances organic greens with surprising touches of violet and muted gold. This color choice evokes a sense of nostalgia. The atmosphere is one of quiet contemplation. It avoids the urgency of the modern world. Instead, the artwork captures the delicacy of a life lived in calm. The scene settles into a peaceful equilibrium between the grounded earth and the atmospheric sky. Every detail reflects a deep reverence for the enduring spirit of the natural world.

… There is in the work of Emilio Álvarez Tejada a certain melancholic and sorrowful character that makes his Galician landscapes an ideal refuge for nostalgic people with no remedy or cure. Those who prefer weathered nature to bare greens, silty lands to marked trails and centenarians ...
… The world happens in this stillness. Even if passers-by on concrete sidewalks don't wake up. Despite not succumbing to the rapidity of the desires of haste. Even if the brushstrokes of Emilio Álvarez Tejada prefer to reflect precious remnants of humanity, in silence, in calm, from a life that is sipped, savoring the delicacy of ...
