Virgilio Neves graduated from the School of Communications and Arts at USP, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He became a specialist in Art History at FAAP in 2010 and completed his Masters in Art Theory at UNESP in 2019. He has extensive experience in the production and study of images.
He was an art director for many years and since 1999 he has also been dedicated to his research in the visual arts, with a focus on drawing and painting. He participated in several individual and group shows in Brazil and in projects in London and Innsbruck, Austria. He is currently developing an extension of his research using Block Printing stamps as a tool, on paper and canvas. Part of these works were exhibited in his individual show "Unmatrix" at Smith Galeria (NZ), 2021.
