Description
It was exhibited in the "Pop Revolution" exhibition in Lecce and is sent with the catalog. Eeshaun’s drawings and paintings explore non-linear, spontaneous and open-ended narratives that express the subconscious mind - as a reaction to the regularity and austerity of Singaporean society. Often unplanned, his abstract, non-conceptual paintings are an experiential and experimental process; fraught with uncertainty and opportunity, and riddled with control and joyful abandonment, as he juxtaposes shapes, lines and planes into a complex, grid-like web of harmonious colors and playful forms.
Presentation
An artist, illustrator and educator, he has created artworks and illustrations for Adidas, Nike, Lacoste, Disney, Singapore Fashion Festival and Herman Miller, and has exhibited at ION Gallery, Singapore Contemporary Art Show, iLight Marina Bay Singapore and The 2016 London Illustration Fair.
Often unplanned, his paintings and drawings are an experiential and experimental process, as he juxtaposes shapes, lines and planes into a web of colours and playful forms. Ee Shaun has been a National Arts Council-appointed NOISE visual art mentor for The Apprenticeship Programme since 2009, and was a finalist for the 2011 Sovereign Asian Art Prize.
