Description
Mixed media: Oil paint, collage, drawing on paper and transparent film in a presentation sleeve AL-Nr. 440.
Against a calm grey-green background, curved and finely differentiated, color-contrasting lines unfold, suggesting dynamic leaf shapes. In fact, the image originated from studies of nature's diverse leaf forms, which the artist extensively drew and studied. The lines overlap in an interrelated play that radiates movement and lightness. The uniqueness of this work lies in the combination of simplicity and the untamed diversity of the line play. The light floating frame directs the viewer's focus to the composition and underscores the clear aesthetic of the work. A remarkable example of modern abstraction.
