Description
With , Silvio Formichetti delivers an abstract work of great gestural intensity, where painting becomes a direct extension of movement and energy. The composition is structured around broad black and gray brushstrokes violently cast onto a light background, countered by off-white areas and sharp, vivid orange interventions.
The marks—sometimes expansive, sometimes nervous—intersect and collide, creating an almost explosive dynamic. Splashes and drips of orange introduce strong chromatic tension, disrupting the apparent balance and infusing the work with a sense of urgency and pulse. The pictorial matter is thick and occasionally granular, revealing brush striations and the accidents of the gesture.
The absence of a title functions as an invitation to free interpretation. does not seek to impose a reading, but rather to provoke an immediate, sensory experience. The work evokes a suspended moment—an energy captured on canvas—where control and spontaneity coexist in a fragile equilibrium.
Faithful to the tradition of gestural abstraction and contemporary expressionism, Silvio Formichetti asserts through this work an instinctive and confident pictorial language, in which the force of the gesture takes precedence over narrative and painting becomes a space of total freedom.
