Description
Presentation
Nine previously unpublished works by the master Pedro Niaupari are part of the posthumous exhibition entitled “Remembrances", which returns to the roots of the visual artist, considered an icon in the lines of bullfighting and the Andean festival. Pedro Niaupari was born in Quito in 1954 and thanks to his style he established himself as one of the renowned visual artists who on more than one occasion represented Ecuador abroad. His son recalled that the author had organized exhibitions in Madrid, New York, Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, among other cities. But he assured that where it had the most impact was in Paris, precisely because of its theme linked to bullfighting. Niaupari in Kichwa means moving the wind. Perhaps his name is one of the pillars that have defined his work, characterized by a staging full of movement and light. The painter also addressed the beauty of the popular festival and always highlighted the elements of Andean culture. The artist died on March 22, 2009, in Quito, following a heart attack.
