Description
Looking back, and thinking about what I'm currently producing, I realize that I'm becoming increasingly synthetic and minimalist, seeking a certain essence that I aim to convey in my work. I'm interested in creating contemporary works, but also with a timeless character. I consider this a constant challenge, as we live in a chaotic and constantly changing world. When I paint, I find myself immersed in the water, in the watery nature of the painting itself. What separates the surface of the water and the surface of the air, when one is immersed, is a two-dimensional, abstract surface of separation that cannot be seen, but can be felt. This point of transition and at the same time, the union between one surface and another is what interests me: where figuration and geometrization, materiality and immateriality, coherence and incoherence meet. For me, as an artist, this becomes a healing act, both the action of immersing oneself in the water and the painting itself.
