Description
In line with her "Metamorphoses" series, Marie-Aude Molin continues the graphic exploration of a world in unstable equilibrium, where architecture becomes a playground. Faithful to her watercolor technique and minimalist vocabulary, Marie-Aude Molin arranges pipes, figures and accessories in a fluid composition, without apparent hierarchy.
The conduits intersect, rise, and divert in a labyrinthine construction, where each character seems engaged in a solitary, repetitive, or absurd action: scrubbing, climbing, reaching out. Here again, the props punctuate the scene like clues to an activity that remains unspecified.
The vivid palette, sharp contours, and bright flat tints contribute to this unique atmosphere, both calm and lively. The whole doesn't seek logic, but rather an internal coherence, carried by movement and rhythm.
Presentation
Marie-Aude MOLIN was born in 1962 in Aisne (France)
Marie-Aude's artistic adventure began in 2012 while she was living on Reunion Island. Initially an author and composer, ranging from poetry to slam against the backdrop of acoustic guitar, the self-taught artist chose in 2014 to devote herself entirely to her new passion for drawing and painting.
Since then, she has created unique works, in a very graphic style that lies between illustration and comic strips.
In each of her works, which she draws beforehand with a black acrylic marker, then most often paints with watercolor using a technique that allows her to obtain intense and luminous colors, she likes to divert reality to treating it with humor and poetry, playing with shapes and colors to give birth to sometimes singular, often offbeat works, where his free imagination opens the door to all graphic fantasies.
