Description

The triptych Rift 5 explores the moment of tension and fracture as a metaphor for inner transformation. Sharp geometric planes, built in strict minimalism, collide with the irregular structure of a textured surface. In these cracks, as in zones of vulnerability, amethyst crystals emerge, a symbol of resilience and strength born under pressure. The contrast between smooth and rough textures, cold geometry and the organic form of the stone reflects the inner conflict between order and chaos, control and spontaneity. Here, fracture is not destruction but a point of growth, a space where a new, stronger, and more complete quality is born. The work embodies the concept of antifragility: like stones formed deep within the earth under the influence of time and pressure, a person is capable not only of withstanding impact but of gaining strength and beauty through it.

The painting is made with acrylic, texture paste, and natural gemstones (amethyst) on canvas.

This triptych consists of three individual paintings, each measuring 20 × 20 cm. Canvas depth: 4 cm.

The edges are painted to match the front surface for a clean, finished look.
Each piece is protected with a satin varnish.
All three artworks will be shipped together in one sturdy cardboard box. It will be shipped ready to hang, securely packed in a cardboard box.

Presentation

Veronika Obushikhina is a contemporary artist based in Spain. She was born in Russia in 1976 and has lived and worked in Spain since 2010. With a background in management, psychology, and linguistics, she brings a multifaceted perception of the world to her practice, allowing her to explore human experience and inner states through her art. In 2023, she completed her studies at the International School of Contemporary Creativity (Spain) and fully devoted herself to art.

Veronika's creative path led through various forms — from jewelry making to decorative techniques — until she consciously turned to painting. Through exploration and doubt, she developed her own artistic language: strict, minimalist, filled with inner tension and a focus on form.

At the core of her work lies the metaphor of antifragility — an inner strength that emerges not in spite of pressure, but because of it. Her paintings reflect states of intense tension, edges, and fracture — moments where, instead of breaking down, something new is born.

Her works are marked by visual rigor and aesthetic purity. For Veronika, form matters as much as meaning — each element is crafted with precision, rhythm, and expressiveness. Her goal is a clarity where discipline meets sensitivity and tension meets silence.

Veronika's artworks are part of private collections in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States.
