Description
A solitary figure rises amid water and lilies. Currents of devotion keep her afloat.
Unlike the tragic Ophelia, she stands poised and alive, refusing to be claimed by despair. This piece reimagines surrender — not as an inevitability, but as a choice defied. Here, resilience blooms at the water's edge, affirming that one can remain steadfast and whole, even when adrift in.
Vertical accents and pale halos of light lift the body against a field of blues and greens. Brushwork follows the drift of water yet gathers firmness around the face and chest, where resolve is most legible. Lilies mark a threshold.
The myth is not erased; it is re‑read. Here, the river bears witness rather than doom. The piece holds a lesson: survival can be dignified, and without spectacle—and that is its power.
