Don't ask, 2025

Iryna Kobzar

“Don't Ask" is the first painting in the “You Don't Know Me" series - the starting point of a visual and emotional journey into the inner world of womanhood. This work opens the dialogue, setting the tone for the entire cycle - a story of transformation, vulnerability, strength, and self-acceptance.
The painting reveals the mystical yet earthly world of a woman - unpredictable, profound, and constantly evolving. It's a whirlpool of emotions and sensations, where tenderness meets power, and sorrow blends with confidence.
The butterflies that envelop her symbolize the waves of inner transformation - the trembling of desire, the birth of illusions, and the sting of disappointment. She seems to whisper: “Don't ask why. Don't ask how. Just accept. I am always in motion. Sometimes even I can't fully grasp myself, but I know - I will rise, because I am a woman, a magnificent being."
This is the portrait of a woman who embraces herself in every shade - gentle and fierce, calm and stormy. She seeks no explanations, no permission. Her beauty lies in authenticity; her power - in acceptance.

The “You Don't Know Me" series as a whole is a tender yet powerful exploration of the feminine soul - a visual symphony of emotional honesty, self-discovery, and transformation. Each painting reflects another facet of womanhood: the quiet strength behind fragility, the mystery of emotions, the constant rebirth of identity. Together, they form a living mosaic of a woman's being - fluid, luminous, and endlessly real.
The artwork invites you to pause, to look deeper - to feel the stillness where true power is born: within vulnerability.
