Ghada Jamal

In these landscapes, light and shadow move like breath across the canvas. Clouds cast fleeting shadows over valleys and hills, while sudden bursts of sun ignite the horizon. Each painting captures the truth of a shifting hour; the stillness of dawn, the blaze of noon, the descent of evening.

Jamal does not only paint the land but also the weather above it: the movement of clouds, the passage of hours, the rhythm that cannot be fixed. Color works in parallel with form; greens dissolve into gold, reds break through with urgency, blues deepen into silence. Her brush builds a system both intuitive and structured, a depth that runs alongside our own existence.

The landscape here is not static, but alive; a layered horizon of time, memory, and breath. These paintings remind us that we move within the same flow: we share the same light, pass through the same shadows, and belong to a horizon that renews itself without end.

For decades, Ghada Jamal's work has given voice to landscapes as both witness and memory, securing her place as a vital figure in contemporary Arab art.
