Designated Goals (Wyznaczone cele), 2025

Artur Sudak

Description: "Designated Goals" is a square-format oil painting that captures the tension between the humble reality of home—symbolized by a small, lit hut—and the grand scale of our ambitions, represented by a soaring monolith. The atmospheric use of light and texture showcases my long-term dedication to the surrealist style.

This artwork vividly captures a dramatic rocket launch, with the spacecraft piercing a sky awash in fiery hues of orange and red. The clouds form a turbulent backdrop, emphasizing the raw power and energy of the ascent. Below, a desolate landscape stretches out, featuring scattered debris that evokes a sense of abandoned civilization. The contrast between the dynamic sky and the barren earth creates a striking visual tension. A solitary figure stands in the distance, dwarfed by the scale of the scene, adding a poignant element of human vulnerability amidst technological ambition. The artist skillfully uses dynamic brushstrokes and a warm color palette to evoke movement and intensity, while the detailed rendering of the rocket draws the viewer's eye upward, symbolizing aspiration and the pursuit of the unknown. This painting masterfully balances chaos and calm, capturing a moment of profound transition.
