Description
The gaze captures the innocence of a child's face. The smile imposes itself with frankness. The composition favors a close-up shot which places the viewer face to face with the subject's pure expression.
The work relies on a generous application of the material. The brushstrokes accumulate in thick layers. This technique creates a tangible relief on the canvas.
The colors clash boldly. Warm tones dominate the center of the face. Splashes of blue and yellow emerge on the edges to energize the whole.
The light sculpts the features. It highlights the shine of the eyes and the brilliance of the teeth. The contrast between the shaded areas and the lit areas brings a sculptural depth to the portrait.
The whole exudes a solar energy. The stroke is free and spontaneous. The black frame emphasizes the chromatic density of this oil painting.
Presentation
Loïc Tuhal is a contemporary French painter born in 1962. Known for his physical and impulsive approach to the canvas as well as for his ability to react quickly to his surrounding environment, Tuhal is renowned for his vibrant and colorful works that evoke emotion in the viewer. In this article, we will delve deeper into the work of this artist, explore his journey, and discover what makes his work unique
Loïc Tuhal was born in 1962 in France. Without formal art education, he began to paint from a young age as a self-taught artist. In the 1990s, he turned to sculpture, but returned to painting later. His paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout France, as well as in Europe and the United States.
Loïc Tuhal's approach is very physical and impulsive. He often begins by observing the white frame for a long period, which allows him to understand the environment around him. Then, he quickly reacts to what he sees, using a palette of bright and contrasting colors to create abstract and expressive compositions.
Loïc Tuhal's paintings are characterized by bright colors and abstract forms. He uses bold colors such as red, yellow, and orange to create balanced compositions that evoke natural elements such as the sea and the sky. His painting is full of emotion and shows bouquets of colors always in harmony. The expressive brushstrokes and organic forms create a visual dynamic that attracts the viewer's gaze.
Loïc Tuhal's works are strongly influenced by nature and the natural environment. His abstract compositions often evoke natural elements such as water, the sky, and rocks. He is also influenced by the great masters of painting, such as Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning.
Loïc Tuhal's paintings have been exhibited in galleries throughout France, as well as in Europe and the United States. In 2013, he was invited to exhibit his works in New York, where he received glowing reviews
Loïc Tuhal's works have been sold at auctions several times, and his value is constantly growing. In 2016, one of his paintings, titled "Stormy Sky," was sold for a record price of 2,600 euros at an auction in Paris.
