Description
An iconic portrait comes to life under paint projections. The original white helmet fades to give way to a chromatic explosion. The deep black of the background accentuates the contrast of the pigments. Splashes of blue, yellow, and magenta intertwine vigorously.
The line and the spot coexist. The rigid structure of the armor fragments in a centrifugal movement. Each projection suggests raw energy. The gaze remains fixed despite the visual chaos surrounding it.
This technique recalls street art and its gestural freedom. The composition plays on the tension between the precision of the subject and the letting go of the material. The light seems to burst from the center of the canvas.
This creation is presented in the form of a canvas print. The rendering emphasizes the texture of the projections and the saturation of the primary colors. The image captures a moment of graphic deconstruction.
Presentation
Arnaud Florentin is a French painter, born in 1978 in Nancy, aka as Flow, he currently lives and works in Nancy.
Flow joined École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Nancy, and obained his post-graduation in 2003. Artist-performer, it was impossible for Flow to stop living his passion due to his studies: he continued to paint and do graffiti at the same time.
Flow didn't hesitate to try out several techniques, even through he remained quite attached and good at dripping, a technique where he lets the paint flow to create his work. He was quickly discovered due to his colored paintings in 2000's, the singer Nancy Jazz Pulsation, asked him to create the design cover of her album in 2008.
Due to his recurring presence in several contemporary art fairs, Flow became well-known upto Korea. His works are displayed in several galleries and the artist constantly develops and improves his technique by creating unknown faces of celebrities, but also of vanity and urban landscapes.
In 2015, Flow's work was displayed in many galleries in France and abroad, the same year he planned to finalize his visual for the "Solidays" poster.
