Description
A sunlit green slope tumbles toward a quiet valley in this fresh spring landscape, where snow-capped peaks glow beneath a soft blue sky. Tiny yellow, red and blue wildflowers dot the meadow, brushed in lively, rhythmic strokes that make the grass seem to sway in the mountain breeze. Warm earthy scars of exposed soil and rocky outcrops add depth and contrast to the cool greens. Aramayis Khlghatyan captures the calm and openness of the Armenian highlands, bringing a breath of clean mountain air and renewal to any living room, office or reading corner. A peaceful escape for every lover of nature.
Presentation
My name is Aramayis Khlghatyan, born on May 5, 1954, in the town of Martuni, Gegharkunik region, Armenia.
I completed my secondary education at Martuni Secondary School No. 1 in 1971 and later served in the Soviet Army from 1973 to 1975. In 1975, I was admitted to the Panos Terlemezian College of Fine Arts in Yerevan, where I studied with distinction and graduated in 1979.
Upon returning to Martuni, I became one of the co-founders of the local School of Fine Arts, where I also began teaching. Throughout my years of teaching, I actively participated in both group and solo exhibitions, all the while deepening my practice in painting and sculpture.
In 2008, I became a member of the Artists' Union of Armenia.
In 2014, I initiated and participated in a sculpture symposium in Martuni. Among my notable works are "Jumping Cat" and "Ascension" — the latter a memorial dedicated to the fallen heroes of the Artsakh War.
In 2019, I held a personal exhibition at the Martuni Art Gallery, presenting a series of original compositions and plein air works.
In June 2023, I organized a solo painting exhibition titled "Homeland of the Soul", which was also exhibited in Goris in August of the same year.
In June 2024, I hosted a painting symposium, followed by plein air sessions in Lori, Artashat, and Mtnadzor during August 2024.
Now retired, I dedicate my time fully to painting — continuing to explore, create, and express through colour and form.
