Description
This work by Dillon Boy revisits Bart Simpson, the rebellious icon of pop culture, through the lens of street art and contemporary painting.
The character is instantly recognizable through his bold black outlines, faithful to the original animated aesthetic, yet reinterpreted with a free and instinctive painterly treatment. Bart’s wide, slightly off-centered gaze, combined with his seemingly innocent expression, reinforces his defiant and irreverent nature—symbolic of untamed, nonconformist youth.
The chromatic palette is dominated by a vibrant yellow, punctuated by white drips and splashes of orange that add unexpected depth to the face. These deliberate marks evoke movement, wear, and the spontaneity of the gesture, as if the image were in constant transformation.

Dillon Boy, his real name James Dillon Wright, is an American street artist, born in 1979.
He became known in 2007, artist graphic designer, illustrator, he lives and works in Italy.
Dillon Boy draws inspiration from pop-culture, super heroes from Disney movies. He represents the princesses in their simple attire, like in adult magazine covers, he mainly works with stencil and spray paint.
Dillon Boy's work is called "Pop avant-garde", he is inspired by street and pop artists like Banksy and Sehpard Fairey, he worked with the latter to elaborate the "Hop" poster for Obama's presidential campaign.
The artist appeared in Shepard Fairey's company (aka Obey) during the release of the latter in the Times magazine, during Obama's election, as "Man of the year" in 2008.
