Arctic-rooted photography and AI art exploring unseen inner and natural worlds.

Biography

Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi art photographer and digital artist whose practice connects macro photography, AI-assisted image-making and Indigenous Arctic sensibility. Born in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, she began her artistic practice in 2020.

Living with aphantasia—the inability to form mental images—Etuvgi uses the camera and generative tools as extensions of her visual imagination. Her macro photographs reveal immersive, often otherworldly details within mosses, lichens and dewdrops, while her digital works give form to psychological states, archetypes and imagined realities beyond the reach of the lens.

Her work is informed by a Chukchi upbringing rooted in close attention to the natural world, creating images that move between observation, emotion and transformation. Etuvgi has exhibited internationally in Venice, London, Barcelona, Palermo and San Marino. She was a finalist for the Arte Laguna Prize and has received a grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
