"Deep Inside" is one of ZURIK's major works — by its format, 300 × 150 cm, and by the density of its message. The artist describes her intention: the work reflects what she does when painting in the street, with the aerosol can as the only tool, on a surface whose size allows her to build the whole with fluidity. "Painting in large format is for me like a dance; it gives me a certain freedom and at the same time a greater control over my movements."
"Deep Inside" — "deep inside" — anchors the work in an introspective dimension rare in Graffiti, a tradition that has been more built on extroversion and urban visibility. ZURIK turns the gaze: the street becomes a mirror, the wall becomes a journal. It is an intimate portrait, a very personal look at her exploration and her inner world.
Wildstyle and visual architecture: a personal grammar
ZURIK began painting in the street in Bogotá in 2009, alongside her Graphic Design studies at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. This dual training — that of the self-taught writer of the Colombian streets and that of the rigorous designer — is constitutive of her work. She develops a style close to wildstyle — a complex form of Graffiti where the overall composition takes precedence over the legibility of the letters — but by introducing an organic and geometric dimension that gives it an almost vector-like quality. Her finishes, with a precision that sometimes gives the impression of a printed work rather than a spray-painted one, are the result of this double demand.
Each project is designed from scratch, without reusing existing elements. For ZURIK, it is crucial to maintain the preeminence of the letters, whose style she describes as close to wildstyle, while seeking to "bring this style to the general public without losing value or authenticity." It is in this space of tension — between the rigor of the Graffiti code and accessibility to the greatest number — that her work finds its singularity.
Painting in large format is for me like a dance; it gives me a certain freedom and at the same time a greater control over my movements. In my opinion, everything is much more natural.
Institutional links
<In 2021, the work "Eye contact" by ZURIK entered the permanent collection of the STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam, one of the world's reference museums for urban art, founded in the former NDSM workshops and which currently houses one of the most important collections of street art indoors. This presence in the permanent institutional collection consecrates an artistic approach that transcends the borders of Graffiti to enter the field of contemporary art in the broad sense.
<In 2025, ZURIK participates in the exhibition "Graffiti, letters & styles" at the Galerie du Boléro in Versoix, in partnership with the gallery OUTSIDE ART (May 8 – July 27, 2025). She is featured alongside BANDI, KASER, REYONE, SERVAL, SMASH137 and WHYRE, in an exhibition dedicated to the current state of Graffiti as a demanding artistic discipline.
<Formal analysis
<The panoramic format of "Deep Inside" — 300 × 150 cm — engages the viewer's body as much as their gaze. The composition, executed entirely with aerosol, unfolds ZURIK's letters in their full amplitude: the color mixes, the cuts, the gradients that characterize her work testify to a technical mastery that owes nothing to chance, but everything to years of intensive practice in the streets of Bogotá, then Barcelona and around the world.
<The complexity of the composition — where each letter is interwoven with the others in a logic of subtle connections — does not prevent a certain fluidity of reading. It is the balance proper to ZURIK's wildstyle: the complexity is real, but it is organized, disciplined, serving a coherent whole. "Deep Inside" is, in this sense, a demonstration — but a demonstration that resembles none other.

From the beginning, his work focused on the construction of works with an organic and geometric style, without losing sight of the structure of the letters, the essence of Graffiti.
Exploring different formats over time, she has added figurative elements to her compositions, which she defines as stemming from the “wild" style. This combination allows her to present works that respect the codes of Graffiti and are at the same time understandable by a wide audience.
Originally from Colombia and living in Spain since 2009, ZURIK has gained notoriety through his unique style and the rigor of his work.
