Description
This painting on paper was part of an exhibition I held in Melbourne in March, this year 2026 the exhibition was titled Morning Glory.
This artwork explores the contrasts of daily life – the tension between urban dynamics and natural flow of nature. Vibrant hues collide in a fluid dance. Luminous greens merge with deep oceanic blues whilst washes of color create a sense of atmospheric depth. Sharp orange lines cut through the stillness. They meander across the surface balancing the organic forms with sudden geometric shocks. White bursts of light emerge like sea foam or distant stars. A singular dark decorative band anchors the horizontal axis. It introduces a structured contrast to the swirling currents. Transparent layers overlap to build a complex visual rhythm. A gold thread winds through the lower section. It leads the eye toward the soft blue depths at the base where the signature is placed in the lower right hand corner.

Wendy Grace is an Australian artist that holds an Honours degree in Painting from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. An accomplished Australian artist renowned for her vibrant abstract compositions, command of colour and instinctive grasp of spatial relationships. Her artworks are deeply influenced by nature and urban dynamics, as she seeks to push the boundaries of her work to find new ways to convey meaning and emotion.
