Description
History of the work
“Sous-bois” is inspired by a walk in the forest, where I was captivated by the complexity and tranquility of nature. Through this work, I seek to capture the particular atmosphere of an undergrowth, where the subdued light creates a mysterious and contemplative atmosphere.
The artistic approach behind "Sous-bois" is to create a composition that evokes the depth and texture of a forest landscape. I want to convey an immersive atmosphere where the viewer feels transported to the heart of nature.
Techniques used
Carborundum:
I apply a layer of carborundum to the copper plate. By mixing carborundum with a special glue, I create a textured surface that captures the roughness and complexity of natural elements such as tree bark and forest floor.
Drypoint:
With the dry point, I delicately trace a few lines to add precise details to the work. These lines can represent the outlines of tree trunks, intertwining branches or leaves filtering light.
