"Constructivist Reverie" captures the intersection of abstraction and identity, blending geometric precision with vibrant surrealism. At its core, a stylized human face emerges, partially obscured by bold geometric shapes that seem to float and overlap in a dreamlike dance. The juxtaposition of organic features, such as the crimson lips and luminous skin, against the rigid constructs of circles, lines, and rectangles invites the viewer into a visual dialogue on the balance between order and chaos.
The piece pulsates with vibrant primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—intertwined with sharp black forms and unexpected pops of pink and turquoise. These striking contrasts evoke a sense of movement and rhythm, while the textured surfaces and earthy tan tones add a tactile dimension, softening the starkness of the design.
Inspired by the Constructivist and De Stijl movements, the artwork employs a harmonious blend of primary colors and stark black elements to create a dynamic yet balanced composition. The primary palette symbolizes purity and universality, while the addition of unconventional tones such as magenta and teal disrupts the traditional Constructivist canon, injecting a sense of modernity and individuality. The interplay of warm and cool hues invites the viewer into a layered emotional experience, where structure and whimsy coexist.
This piece serves as a meditation on the tension between individuality and collective constructs, echoing philosophical ideas from both modernist and postmodernist frameworks. Drawing from the Constructivist ethos of art as a tool for social commentary, reflects on the systems and ideologies that shape human identity. The partially concealed face suggests the obscured and fragmented self, resonating with postmodern notions of the decentralized subject.
Furthermore, the overlaying forms and the use of bold, functional shapes mirror Ludwig Wittgenstein's philosophy of language and symbols: that meaning is derived not from isolated entities but through their interaction within a structured system. The artwork asks its audience to consider how much of identity is constructed—layered through societal, cultural, and historical geometries—and how much remains innately human and irreducible.
By merging a Constructivist aesthetic with philosophical depth, becomes a vibrant and thought-provoking exploration of the self in the modern world.

Sephora Venites is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans performance, video, painting, photography, and technology.
Her multifaceted approach merges technical precision with intuitive experimentation, crafting visual narratives that transcend aesthetic and conceptual boundaries.
Beyond her work in the visual arts, Sephora is a dedicated actress, bringing a broad perspective to her roles in film and television. Her credits include the independent feature Liquid Love (2018) by Vitor Steinberg, inspired by Zygmunt Bauman's writings; Matthew John's contemporary adaptation of Hedda Gabler ; Andrew Arthur's romantic comedy Love at First Swipe; and the acclaimed series Mr. Selfridge (2013).
A graduate of Barcelona's Institut Català de la Moda in costume design and editing, Sephora applies her expertise in visual storytelling to push the boundaries of art and identity. In collaboration with photographers such as Paul Winstone, Nick Delaney, and Jonas Tucci, she developed a fine art photography series paying tribute to Frida Kahlo, reinterpreting her iconic aesthetic through a contemporary lens.
Her work masterfully bridges traditional and contemporary media, creating art that is both timeless and cutting-edge. Inspired by movements like Dadaism, Sephora's projects explore philosophical themes through vivid visual metaphors, questioning the nature of art itself.
With a bold and visceral style that echoes her Brazilian roots and the lush landscapes of her childhood, Sephora reinvents imagery and narrative within the digital age, challenging the concept of authenticity in a "copy-paste" culture.
