I'm offering a lithograph in an edition of 20, complete with a certificate from French artist Socrate. It's printed on 300g art paper and is sold framed.
Originally from the Parisian suburbs, Socrate is an artist rooted in the graffiti movement. She stages a highly contrasted universe, utilizing the raw and immediate nature of graffiti. She sublimates the strength and fragility of images, primarily the features of femininity, through intimate and glamorous representations.
Socrate invites graffiti into the boudoir, thus blending an essentially masculine discipline with the elegance and sensuality of feminine aesthetics. She exhibits in several galleries worldwide, alongside many big names such as Jonone, Orlinski, Onemizer, C215, Shepard Fairey, Invader, and Kev Munday.
Presentation
Socrate is a french artist coming from the graffiti movement. After some years paintings walls in the street with spray cans she gets from urban materials to canvas.
Her work is made of contrats : the colorful and wild essence of graffiti is confronted with duotone and B&W pictures. In the same way, urban art's inherent energy and movement in her colorful background animates temporal and motionless images.
