Description
This work by Sophie Griotto depicts a female figure seated on a folding chair, poised between isolation and contemplation. The soft, earthy tones contrast with vibrant green shoes, creating a striking visual tension. Against a minimalist backdrop, the relaxed posture and neutral expression reinforce the introspective atmosphere, offering a poetic and contemporary interpretation of female identity.
Sophie Griotto, born in 1975 in Alès and based in Montpellier, is a renowned French illustrator. Trained in applied arts, she began her career in Paris in 1998 for major fashion houses such as Dior, Givenchy, and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Since 2003, she has devoted herself to a freelance career, where her unique style highlights modern femininity through the interplay of attitudes, fabrics, and colors. Revealed in 2013 by Taschen among the world's leading illustrators, she has been exhibiting since 2016 and is listed on Artprice.
Presentation
Her illustrations are inspired by the world of fashion, the world of media, the world of childhood and poetry. Women play a main role in her creations, she is represented in all her modernity.
Sophie Griotto uses a lot of fabric, which allows her to highlight the colors and patterns.
In 2014, Sophie Griotto was entrusted with the decoration of a Parisian hotel located at the rue de la Paix.
The illustrator is part of the art book "100 Illustrators" as well as in "Illustration now, Fashion" by Taschen.
