Description
Panthera tigris olea sapiens, by YNY, merges the tiger, the olive branch and the human into one stylised, brightly coloured figure, like an emblem. The embroidery clearly separates each flat area and gives the whole a graphic texture.
YNY (Yannick Nory) trained in illustration at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels before moving to Paris. A tattoo artist in his studio at the Saint-Ouen flea market, he also works as an illustrator for the press and publishing (Rageot, Arte Éditions…).
Limited edition of 20, 2023. 40 × 40 cm, 46 × 46 × 3 cm framed. Embroidered in the VANGART workshop in Lyon, which holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label (France's official mark of craft excellence).
Presentation
YNY (Yannick NorY) landed in many ports before dropping anchor in Paris, after his illustration training at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. When YNY (@les_niaiseries) does not tattoo in his Boniments Bleus workshop in the heart of the Saint-Ouen flea market, he exercises his talents as an illustrator for the press and publishing (Rageot, Versant Sud, Arte Editions, Benjamins Media, Espace Magh…).
