Description
Sculpture made by hand in solid oak stained by oxidation.
23K gold tempera gilding.
Base in solid Ebony.
Transport in custom-made wooden crate.
This captivating sculpture features a dynamic semi-circular shape, reminiscent of a feather crest or an outstretched fan. Made from stained oak, it is distinguished by its matte black finish that lends a character that is both understated and majestic. The sharp, symmetrical tips rise toward the sky, creating a fascinating play of light and shadow. Mounted on a thin stem, it rests on a discreet rectangular base that adds stability and elegance. The combination of geometric and organic elements inspires reflection on harmony and contrast. This work, both simple and complex, inevitably draws the eye while inviting contemplation. Each angle offers a new perspective, making this sculpture undeniably unique and timeless.
Presentation
Landry Clément: Woodcarver - Leaf gilder A jeweler by training, Landry Clément worked for more than 22 years in the luxury sector. Following an accident at work, the artist had to retrain and to do so undertook a training course as a woodcarver and a gilder at the ESEA (Ecole Supérieur Ebénisterie d'Avignon). Since June 2015, Landry Clément's workshop has been installed in one of the most beautiful villages in Provence in the historic center of Pernes Les Fontaines.
Landry Clément's works are very contemporary, with harmonious shapes and sculpted surfaces. “I really like working with oak and chestnut because I don't stain the woods, I oxidize them, and it is these two species that have the best rendering" Landry Clément. Gold is also a very important material in the artist's work; the small golden touches on his works highlight the unique qualities of wood.
Landry Clément received the title of Master Artisan d'Art in 2024, the highest distinction for the crafts, for his exceptional know-how and the quality of his work.
