Doggy John, 2025

Julien Marinetti   Emerging artists

Julien Marinetti is a French artist known for his colorful and bold sculptures. With Doggy John, he creates an emblematic work, full of character and modernity.

The sculpture represents a bulldog, a powerful and endearing figure. Made of bronze, it has a contemporary design with clean and balanced lines. But what immediately catches the eye are the colors.

Indeed, the artist covers the surface of paint as on a canvas. The bright hues – orange, pink, turquoise and black – appear to have been poured directly onto the animal. They then flow freely and expressively. Thus, each sculpture becomes a unique piece at the border between painting and volume.

In addition, the contrast between the fixed shape and the dynamic flows creates a striking effect. This gives the work a sense of movement, almost alive. We find here the pop and urban universe of Marinetti, always in search of emotion and visual impact.

The choice of resin reinforces this effect. This modern material allows a glossy and smooth finish. It enhances the colors and transparency effects, while maintaining great strength.

In short, Doggy John is much more than just a bulldog. He is an artistic, cheerful and assertive manifesto. A work that attracts, intrigue, and brings a touch of color and personality to any space.

With this sculpture, Julien Marinetti blurs the boundaries between sculpture, painting and design. It offers an original vision of contemporary art, accessible, expressive and deeply alive.
