Description
Unique and original sculpture by Gite iemfré, hand-carved by the artist in glazed terracotta. Signed. This striking work of art depicts a gorilla sculpture, captivating with its vibrant red hue. The smooth, glossy material reflects the light, accentuating the bold curves and precisely sculpted details. The gorilla is depicted in a robust posture, symbolizing power and stability. The expressive face, with its well-defined features, immediately commands attention and evokes a certain humanity. The voluminous legs add a dimension of solidity to the sculpture, reinforcing the impression of strength. The bold use of red blazes forth, lending a contemporary feel to this classic representation. Each element of the work is designed to provoke an emotional response and admiration for the ingenuity of its execution. This sculpture is a vibrant example of the fusion of modern art and animal symbolism.
Presentation
Born in 1958 in Nancy, she has her studio in Sainte Eulalie d'Olt, France. A graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nancy, Brigitte Iemfré writes and illustrates books for children. The last years she dedicated herself to her main passion that is sculpture, working with molded and glazed clay.
Today she is known particularly for her animals to which we cannot remain indifferent: their rounded shapes and the strength that they emit as well as their very contemporary colors are impressive.
Since 2010,she has been producing sculptural paintings deeply rooted in her sculptural work. Through this new medium, Gite Iemfré share with us her sarcastic look on our society.
