Description
This striking sculpture depicts a female figure draped in a textured coat resembling delicate feathers. Her serene posture and closed eyes suggest silent introspection. The elaborate, almost sculptural hairstyle completes this still portrait, capturing a sense of timeless elegance. The color palette, dominated by earthy and warm tones, evokes a feeling of calm and sophistication. The meticulous level of detail in the folds of the coat highlights exceptional craftsmanship, making this piece as much a tactile exploration as a visual one. The work stands out for its ability to merge elegance and mystery, prompting the viewer to ponder the hidden story behind this captivating silhouette. Through its delicate balance of form and emotion, the sculpture evokes a deep and lasting connection.

“Tales, myths and legends inspire me a lot. They convey images that are both rich in meaning and mysterious. The association between man and animal in particular and more broadly nature has always fascinated me. But tales and myths also interest me for their inexhaustible power of suggestion. In essence, they evade representation, they activate the imagination from canvas to canvas. They are linked to the experience of painting which is perpetually mutating. »

“…At the end of a branch, above a shoulder, below a dress, a cat, a bird, a hare... Faithful companions of play and meditation.
A box, a vial, a mirror, a flower... so many mysterious accessories which give us a clue to follow Maria's red thread on the paths of her imagination and her thoughts.
Complicity, interiority, silences, secrets, enchantment, appeasement, serenity, spirituality, how many precious words come to me traveling in Maria's painting.
