Description
Pop art is embodied here in a stylized feline silhouette. The black line, sharp and precise, defines the shapes with graphic assurance. A bright sky blue dominates the composition, contrasting with a pattern of horizontal red stripes. This play of primary colors brings immediate cheer to the piece.
The structure plays on generous curves and a smooth appearance. The cat's closed eyes suggest serenity and calm. This sculpture aptly mixes humor and geometric rigor.
The technical execution relies on the use of resin, wood, and acrylic. The whole rests on a rectangular black base which stabilizes the composition and accentuates the relief of the figure. Made in 2024, this piece transforms an everyday subject into a playful decorative object. The final rendering is characterized by a glossy finish and perfectly polished surfaces.
Presentation
When asked to which artistic current his works refer, Olivier Derveloy, alias Mustache Bleue, responds with a pirouette: "To the EDS movement, Envie de rire, or even to AD, fun Delirious!"
More seriously, the artist graduated in architecture fell into a paint bucket thirty years ago and never came out, explains: "What interests me is to represent the world in which I live, playing on the effects of scale and making him cheerful, joyful, crazy. An impossible world!
