This artwork is a striking example of geometric abstraction, presenting a complex cityscape composed of interlocking, three-dimensional shapes. The monochromatic palette, dominated by shades of black, white, and gray, enhances the play of light and shadow, adding depth and dimension to the piece. The angular structures, reminiscent of futuristic city buildings, create a sense of movement and dynamism. The artist’s use of perspective skillfully conveys an illusion of towering heights and vastness, drawing the viewer into a maze of interwoven forms. Uniquely, the artwork challenges traditional spatial perception, inviting contemplation on modern architectural wonders and urban growth. The precise and meticulous arrangement of geometric shapes makes it not only visually captivating but thought-provoking, as it blurs the line between order and chaos.
Presentation
Conceptual artist, he works with various media, from painting to illustration, from photography to installations including sound. He graduated from: Nantes Regional School of Fine Arts “ERBAN" (2004) after a course in sound, film and digital photography at the School of Fine Arts in Dundee (Scotland). He has participated in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad and his works are in private collections.
In his paintings and drawings, Piers explores the limitless possibilities of geometric or architectural forms, combining them, accumulating them to the point of saturation. The resulting apparent chaos reflects the way we glimpse the fragments of life and the whole picture eludes us.
In the pictorial works, the support of wood and oil color predominates, which is spread with grainy and plastic effects.
