Biography
Born in 1964 in Ariège, from a family of artisan weavers.
My paternal grandfather worked with boxwood, iron, my maternal grandfather wicker, hazel, trees and crafts are my roots.
Ariège, land of resistance, courage and freedom, values which have fundamentally forged my personality.
Painter, my father taught me the basics of oil painting and gave me a taste for art.
In parallel with a professional career in the field of health, I opened an art gallery in Perpignan and Canet Plage in 2000/2001.
Self-taught, I have been working mosaics for twenty years and as a professional since 2018. I made my first mosaics with recovered tiles, with the wise advice of Alain, tiler, for gluing and jointing.
Wood, glass, enamels, colors, shapes, pliers, wood chisels, dowels, a support. . . , a creation . . . , the mosaic appears. . . , a piece of furniture is reborn.
The Roman mosaics of antiquity, the Byzantine mosaic and Gaudi's trencadis accompany me and give me the joy of creating by handcrafting tesserae and thus finding a harmony of form and color.
It is in nature that I find my inspiration: shapes, colors, harmony.
I like to work on precise patterns, to bring out the finesse of a shape.
