Biography

Caroline White was born in 1952 and had several lives.

As a British national, she lived the first part of her life in the British Isles, mainly in Bristol, where during 16 years, after graduating from the Beaux-Arts School of Saint-Martins in London, she taught sculpture at the Beaux-Arts. She acquired a status and notoriety, and exhibited in England, Germany and in London.

She left England in 1990 and settled in the South-West of France, where she started a family. During her years of retirement, her work synthesized in contact with Romanesque Art that inspires and guides her. She frees herself from many claims and pseudo-intellectual analyses that she used to teach during her courses and polluted her work.

Her main mode of expression, sculpture, is build with her hands, brain and eyes; drawing, that she perfectly masters, approves the forms she creates in third dimension by playing with matter, color, and light.

Her sculptures are abstract, nourished by her painting that is mainly a figurative interpretation of landscapes and architecture.
