Biography
The artist Teodoro Gonzalez de Leon was born in 1926 in Mexico. He joined the National School of Architecture in 1942 then in 1947, he went to France thanks to a scholarship and had access to excellent training since he worked in Le Corbusier's studio for two years. He returned to Mexico in 1950 but will also have the opportunity to work alongside Mario Pani and Abraham Zabdudocsky. His monumental works refer to pre-Hispanic art. In his works, as in his architecture, we find a base of gray, smeared with colored geometric shapes evoking architectural plans. Its graphic style is very successful and refined. He invests in the realization of public buildings, housing, parks, gardens and in particular the Mexican embassy in Brasilia, the college of Mexico or the archaeological museum of the site of Tajin in Veracruz.
