Presentation
Ciris Vell was born in 1946 in Paris, she is a painter, sculptor, and visual artist. She lives in Provence. Graduated from Ecole Boulle in Paris, she continued her studies at Met Penninghen in Paris, but also Ecole nationale supérieure des métiers d’art.
She has a sharp sense for composition, Vell shapes her abstract works through various influences. Guided by subtlety, she combines and plays with textures and forms. Her works are not only bewitching but intriguing as well. Deep blue is the governing principle of her creations, whereas notions of space, earth, universe and nature fill up the canvas.
Francis Parent the art critic acknowledged his work "In Ciris Vell's work, one can always sense energy which goes from material to the spirit. It isn't a co-incidence if the deep blue color is present in several of her abstract paintings. When one gets a closer look, the set of signs and forms might lead us to think that these are planets, comets or outer-galactic nebula, along with men and various other symbols".
Ciris Vell is represented in several galleries and has been increasing the number of her exhibitions. Her work has been acquired by the public but also corporations: Foch Hopital, Fondation Arlety in Paris, Fondation Jean Jaurès in Paris, AXA assurances France, Cultural center in Lyon, Trophées « Les Flèches d’Or », FNAC, Paris.
