Biography

Jeannie Mills Pwerl was born in 1965, she is the daughter of the well-known utopian artist Dolly Petyarre Mills and the niece of Greeny Purvis Petyarre who was one of the greatest painters of the 70's. Her series "Desert Yam" which Jeannie Mills inherited from her mother, is a complex representation of the flower and seeds of the Anaty Bush Yam, her style is very colorful and has captured the attention of buyers and collectors worldwide.
 
She was one of the Australian artists selected for the prestigious NATSIAA 25 (Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award). Her work is represented by microscopic points and complex details of subtle color shades, giving her work three physical dimensions.
