Regina Silveira

Regina Scalzilli Silveira (Porto Alegre RS 1939). Multimedia artist, record label, painter, teacher. In 1959, he completed a bachelor's degree in painting at the Institute of Arts of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (IA / UFGRS), where he studied with Aldo Locatelli (1915-1962) and Ado Malagoli (1906-1994), among others.

In the beginning of the 1960s, he taught painting classes with Iberê Camargo (1914-1994), and engraving with Francisco Stockinger (1919-2009) and Marcelo Grassmann (1925-2013), at the Free Atelier of the Porto Alegre City Hall. As a fellow of the Instituto de Cultura Hispánica, in 1967, he studied at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Madrid. In 1969, she is invited to teach courses at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the University of Puerto Rico.

He returned to Brazil in 1973 and coordinated until 1985 the engraving sector of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (Faap). In 1974, he began teaching at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA / USP). In the same institution, she defended a master's dissertation in 1980 and, in 1984, she obtained the doctoral degree.

From 1991 to 1994, he remained in New York with fellowships awarded by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation (1991), the Pollock-Krasner Foundation (1993) and the Fullbright Foundation (1994). In 1995, he received a resident artist scholarship from the Civitella Ranieri Foundation. Receives, in 2000, the Sergio Motta Cultural Award.
