Biography
Oldrich Pliva studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague between 1965 and 1971.
Oldrich Pliva harnesses energy from his raw materials to find the blueprint of form. The artist deconstructs the material to build new forms in response to an aesthetic requirement that is particularly pure. His sculptures play on combinations of surface effects and colours to translate fundamental and primary emotions.
Oldrich Pliva plays on the perception of emotions allowing the observer to become an actor in his works. His sculptures are revelatory beyond the shapes and impressions of physical sensation.
