Biography

Cyril Mendjisky is a sculptor born in Paris in 1968. He comes from a familly of renowned artists - his father and his grandfather were painters - he is passionate about artistic creation since a young age. He currently lives and works in Saint Paul de Vence, a village on the French Rivera where his grandfather lived before, opening his studio in a sheepfold.

Cyril Mendjisky has been influenced by his numerous and privileged encounters with artists such as César, Arman, Tobiasse and Sosno. He is naturally attracted by cubism, but does not claim to belong to any specific artistic movement, he prefers to have freedom in his creations.

Cyril Mendjisky sculpts following his instincts. His gestures are dictated by the contact he has with the material and the emotions this generates. He does not, therefore, do a previous model to create hi pieces. His favorite material is metal, from which he extracts shapes that are full of charm.

He exhibits his work in his studio in Saint Paul de Vence.
