Marie Renaud

Born in 1976 in Lille, where she studied at the ESAAT art school in Roubaix. She resumed her work as a painter in 2020 and returned to the Beaux Arts de Lyon.

In her work, everything begins with a quest: that of forgotten books, yellowed pages, fragments of stories. Marie Renaud carefully hunts for them, trawling through markets, dusty bookstores, and attics. These literary relics, often destined for oblivion or recycling, find new life in my hands. These pages are not chosen at random. The texts are not mere supports; they inspire, guide, and nourish her creative process.

It is a dialogue between past and present, between the immutable and the ephemeral.

The live model, always female and nude, is often at the heart of his work. Nudity is not only aesthetic; it is a celebration of vulnerability, power, and the raw beauty of the body.

Each painting tells a story: that of the woman depicted, but also that of the book, its stories and the hands that held it before the artist.

Marie Renaud's works do not seek to freeze time but to superimpose it, to intertwine lives, eras, and emotions. They blend with her own artistic language.
