How did you become an artist?
I've always hated running to let off steam, so I imagine drawing was my greatest escape!
How would you define your universe?
I would say that my universe revolves around an exploration of the duality between childish naivety and adult reality. As far as I can remember, I have always been in this quest for realism, in search of the detail that would make the difference. For me, portraits allow me to personify an emotion or a story, to put a face on a feeling, nostalgic, often sad or revolted. The colors arrive through this childish universe, raw and offbeat, jostling the smooth side installed in black and white.
Can you share with us an artistic anecdote?
Confidence for confidence, half of my original drawings are unsaleable, either I spilled coffee on them, or lost! I am very meticulous in the time of creation but out of this bubble, I am a disaster.
