Biography
Certified Plastic Arts teacher, Marie Saksik discovered the modeling of the earth in 2000.
She definitively left teaching in 2011 to devote herself entirely to Sculpture.
His works, initially academic in style, evolve towards a more personal approach during a trip to Asia. The volumes are rounded, amplified, the shapes become more generous.
His sources of inspiration are the sculptures of Aristide Maillol, Chana Orloff, Amadeo Modigliani ...
In 2010, a step was taken by the transition from terracotta to bronze production and it was the encounter with the Landowski Foundry in Bagnolet, which produced around ten of its sculptures in patinated bronze, smooth and stretched.
When this Foundry closed, it turned to Fonderies Rosini in Bobigny and Barelier in Ivry.
Marie Saksik lives and works in the South of France.
