Biography

Bella Harvey has always worked in watercolors on Arches paper. She develops and refines a technique which, initially, is based on a long process of observation. She then realizes her subject by focusing on the play of color, combining the profusion of details with the delicacy of nuances. A floral motif most often frames the subject, and this frieze can itself become very complex.


His works abound in references to the British artistic movements of the 19th century, notably “Arts and Crafts" and the Pre-Raphaelites, through the geometric harmony and the subtle balance that emerge from each image, but also thanks to his favorite subjects, such as that fauna and flora:
birds, fish and plants in particular.
